Using organic, shade grown, bird-friendly and fair trade beans, Capitola Coffee Roasters offers a variety of coffee blends from light to dark roasts. With more than 15 traditional coffees and 7 private blends, Capitola Coffee Roasters employs a freestyle approach to creating new coffee blends, regularly enlisting the help of its customers to discover the next "fabulous blend." Combining the highest quality coffee with friendly service and a cheerful, cozy place for gathering, Capitola Coffee Roasters is the hub for friendly conversation in Capitola Village.
 
A veteran of finance and accounting in the tech economy, Cathy Bentley evolved from a bean counter to
a bean roaster. In December 2002, Bentley’s vision came full circle. Visiting Capitola Village on vacation years ago, she fell in love at first sight. After making the area her home, it was only a matter of time before Bentley’s single-minded focus would deliver on her decade-long dream to run her own coffee shop – one where her coffee is the best and the service is the friendliest. After scouring Santa Cruz County to find the perfect location and wrestling with the spirit-testing rigors of launching a small business, Capitola Coffee Roasters found her.
 
Nestled in the heart of Capitola Village, Capitola Coffee Roasters became the ideal location for Bentley
to introduce her unique blend of high-quality coffee and warm, casual conversation. With the acquisition
of Capitola Coffee Roasters, Cathy Bentley brings her tireless commitment to product perfection and infectious enthusiasm to everything she touches. With a crystal clear vision of customer satisfaction, a strong entrepreneurial spirit and whole-hearted commitment to Capitola Village, Bentley enjoys sharing her talent for chatting and coffee roasting with tourists, locals and business customers.
 
An avid supporter of local education causes, class is always in session at Capitola Coffee Roasters – and Bentley plays both student and teacher. Bentley’s irrepressible appetite for meeting new people and learning new things has resulted in a fast-growing cadre of daily “regulars” who’ve discovered a sophisticated café free of anonymity and full of heart.

And whether it’s for kids on a field trip or everyday customers, Bentley rarely passes an opportunity to teach the arts of bean care and coffee roasting.
